Ingredients to destress

It seems to me as though everyone i know or come across is almost always stressed. That prompted me to linger my thought on the subject and understand better these waves of unflattering feeling that shake millions of people. Stress can simply be understood as a reaction to a stimulus that disturbs our physical and mental equilibrium. It is part of our lives. Some people experience it more than others. It becomes harmful for our welfare and dangerous for our whole being when the degree with which we experience it is elevated. we can slide into depression which is a clinical disease.
The causes of stress varie from one society to another. There is a common belief that money or its lack thereof is the main cause, which doesn't lack some elements of truth. But the reality is the causes of stress are imbeded in every element of culture that governs a given society. In hindsight, America for example would be seen as a country where individuals are emotionally well off giving the fact that it is the greatest economic power in the world, conversely it is not even part of the top twenty happiest country in the world. This is supported by the finding by Richard Easterlin called "Easterlin Paradox. It stipulates that the happiness of nation's people doesn't correlate with the national wealth.
The question is what really are the causes of stress here and elsewhere?
Although there is no one thing that would answer the question as anyone can approprietely list all that causes to stress out, it is rather important to look into ways to destress.
We must be careful as many of us create with our own thoughts circumstances that are stressful, so it is important to recognize that the stressful situation is caused by an outside forces, a situation that is out of our control.Once it is determined there is nothing we can do about it, it is advisable to take steps toward destressing.
The first and most effective action is EXERCISE: a simple walk, a jog, or any form of exercise is a stress-cutter. I have experienced first-hand how better i have become after i have engaged into exercise followed a moment of emotional uneasiness.
A talk to a friend face to face or by phone has poven quite efficient. It is called in psychological term Abreaction: it is a process by which an individual unloads what bothers them to someone else even though they don't expect help from the latter.
